Five most usefull german words?
- English "the" for masculine gender:
- Then we have "the" for feminine gender
You use Capital letter for all Nouns! Only in German you have something like this!
So for example, you write: der Mann (des Mann, dem Mann, den Mann) and die Frau (die Frau)
- Third word? English "and" ...and German UND.
For example: der Mann und die Frau
- ! Next on the list we have IN (IM) (the same like in Eng.)
Der Mann und die Frau wohnen in der Box (where? wo? Dativ).
Watch out! IN (IM) (Dativ or Akkusativ Präposition = Dual Präposition) is not so simple...
It's depends what we want describe. If the sentence is about a place and give us an answear about a question where (wo?), we use Dativ form.
For example: Der Mann ist - wo?- im (in dem) Haus (das Haus - Dativ form: dem Haus).
If the sentence is about direction and give us an answear about a question in what way (wohin?), we use Akkusativ form.
For example: Die Frau geht - wohin - in die Schule. (die Schule - Akkusativ form: die Schule).
In have also questions : wie? (like what?) and wenn? (where?)
- And the last VON (VOM) - "from, of" (Dativ Präposition).
Dracula von Vampires Family :)- of
